Nora, Canary Wharf
NORA is a contemporary Turkish restaurant created as a warm refuge within the fast pace of Canary Wharf. Our design concept bridges the vibrancy of Anatolian culture with the calm clarity of modern craftsmanship, resulting in a space that feels both grounded and elevated.
The interior is guided by the idea of “Urban Anatolia”—a meeting point between tradition and modernity. Warm timber, honed stone, and tactile plaster create an earthy, welcoming foundation, while bespoke joinery and curated mid-century forms bring a refined architectural rhythm to the space. Throughout the restaurant, rich woven textiles and subtle patterns nod to Turkish craft heritage, interpreted in a contemporary, understated way.
Large windows flood the space with daylight, softening the warm materials during the day and allowing our layered lighting scheme to transform the atmosphere into an intimate evening setting. Custom furniture, sculptural lighting, and crafted details ensure that every zone—from the lively bar to the more secluded dining areas—offers comfort, character, and thoughtful spatial flow.
NORA is designed as an invitation to linger: a restaurant where texture, light, and cultural narrative blend into a cohesive experience. In the centre of London’s financial district, it offers a moment of calm hospitality shaped by craftsmanship, material honesty, and a deep appreciation for the richness of Turkish culinary culture.
This 300sqm café features an L – shaped layout, with a central bar positioned at its core, ensuring visibility from every corner. To infuse warmth into the space, we enveloped the walls in rich wooden veneer, accentuated by soft lighting and carefully curated décor. A cohesive design language of gentle curves flows throughout- from the elegant curved wall with integrated banquette seating to the organically shaped tables and gracefully rounded furnishings- creating a harmonious and inviting atmosphere.
